Can you believe it's been 12 years since we posted

Can you believe it's been 12 years since we posted our first image of the house. It was so run down and needed lots of TLC. We had the option of tearing it down, cramming buildings on the block and maximising return but that really didn't sit well with us. We could have done a cheap makeover and sold or rented as a permanent but the house was too special so we chose to bring her back to life. Turning it in holiday accommodation meant we could restore her and keep what made it special. We could decorate and style in keeping with its era and share those special memories its brings with our guests. Feeling such a sense of pride that we put the property and memories first.

A new restoration piece for the house… the perfect little pink and gold stool for sitting at the dressing table. Women of the 50s would pop on their lippy for a night out and sit here before bed time to brush their hair … don’t forget 100 strokes to bring out the shine.

I definitely considered the traditional fluffy fur but ended up with a classic pink velvet.
Sooo glamorous… I can picture Marilyn Monroe sitting here in her fluffy heeled slippers.
